About
I have been painting and creating since I was a little girl, growing up in Winston Salem, NC. After studying Philosophy/ Religion and later, Studio Art, I left a high school teaching career to pursue my passion for the arts with a more intentional focus. While I have a particular love for painting the human figure, I am also fascinated and inspired by translating potent experiences, poetry, feelings, sounds and ideas onto the canvas in both realistic and abstracted expressions, and sometimes a combination of both. Travel excites and awakens my senses, revealing new possibilities for connecting in deeper ways to the art of creation, and ever reminding me that we are ALL seeking meaning, passion, and beauty in one form or other.
My Art Studies include:
-
Cochabamba School of Fine Arts (Bolivia, S.A.)
-
Lutherville Art Institute (Baltimore, MD)
-
Maryland Institute College of Art (Baltimore, MD)
-
Towson State University (Baltimore, MD)
-

The rest of my time involves running, skipping and reading on the beach, dancing, playing with my cats, tending to my flowers and plants, walking hand in hand with my husband, watching as many sunrises and sunsets as possible, and digging deep into gratitude and appreciation for the unfolding moments of life.
